Haverford township pa job openings2/21/2024 The Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) opened Haverford Station in 1880 on their Main Line west out of Broad Street Station (now Suburban Station) in Philadelphia. This is a volunteer opportunity provided by VolunteerMatch, in partnership with LinkedIn for Good.Haverford is an unincorporated community located in both Haverford Township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States, and Lower Merion Township in Montgomery County, approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Philadelphia. We are in the process of rebuilding our class offerings and expanding to offer more day-time classes to better serve our more senior students. Haverford Township Adult School has returned to in-person classes after having to shift most of its classes to on-line, virtual format, during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Local area residents/business owners are preferred. HTAS is also seeking Advisory board members with expertise in marketing, website management, finance/accounting, insurance, and board development to provide professional advice on an as needed basis. Currently all board and committee meetings are being held virtually. Board members attend board meeting about 8 times/year, and serve on committees to determine curriculum, oversee our website and social media presence, finances, and community relations. We are especially interested in volunteers with bookkeeping/accounting, non-profit development, social media, marketing, website management and IT. We are seeking residents of or owners of businesses located in Haverford township or the surrounding community to serve as Board members. HTAS has a working board of directors, not a money board. Provide direction to the HTAS, the Haverford Township Adult School. Most classes take place in the Haverford Township High school and Middle School buildings but we are independent from the public school district. HTAS offers Fall and Spring semester classes. HTAS DEPENDS ON VOLUNTEERS to keep overhead low and class tuition very affordable. We ARE NOT supported by any tax revenues. Course fees and donations provide our sole source of income to cover faculty compensation, facility charges, production and mailing of brochure and all other operating expenses. Haverford Township adult school is an independent, non-profit organization.
